Why does snow make people silly

It’s the silly drivers that really get my back up. I drove my son, who’s not been driving too long, to Wetherby this morning. The side roads in the village were, as expected, about 4 inches deep with the snow. The main road, which is a bus route was much better, but still tricky as [...]

Saturday – Whitby

A longish walk from the appartemnt to Sandsend. All along the beach. Lunch in the Hart Inn. It was quite a small place, but very busy. Managed to get a small table in corner, so that was quite good. We had a prawn sandwhich and a bowl of chips between us. It quite ample, with [...]

Back to work ….

It’s back to work tomorrow !! It’s been a good few days off. We dropped the eldest at Uni this morning, and then went to look at a new car. We get to change our family car in March, under the Motorbility scheme, so we need to start looking now. We’ve had a Renault [...]

Walking again

A short walk around the village. Only about 4 miles. Now in the Bay Horse !!!! Cheers.

Off for a walk…

Well I’m off for a short walk by the side of the A63 East Leeds Li nk road. Not the prettiest of routes, but at least I’m trying. Should take about 40 minutes.

It seems to be getting easier

Mrs H took the youngest to see S****’s flat today. Well that was not the main reason for going, I suppose, and neither was taking the small table and chairs. No I think she had to go round for herself. Just to convince herself that he is coping. From what it sounds, he realised this [...]

It’s done …….

Well ……… he’s gone. Eldest lad safely installed in his flat. Mrs H was very disappointed in the place. I cannot convince her though, that as student accommodation goes, their place is a palace !! I’ve seen the type of thing students live in. Often they don’t have doors that close …… often they don’t [...]

Last night…..

Well tomorrow is the eldest lads big day. The day me and Mrs H have been dreading for very different reasons. Her, because her little boy is fleeing the nest, and me because I know how upset she is going to be. It is going to be one torturous day all round. To cap it [...]

Its official …… I’m a ‘nerd’

It’s true …… I am officially a ‘nerd’. To be precise an ‘Excel Nerd’. Well here’s the story. I regularly read the ‘”Contextures Blog” (quick plug) which is an excellent resource for all things Excel, run by the wonderful Debra Dalgleish. I came across this by accident, whilst looking for a solution to a problem [...]

Damn computers….

Well I suppose its not the fault of the computers. They are after all only inanimate boxes of switches. No I blame the techies that run the ICT department. They appear to be just a bunch of people that are not quite up to the standard required. Even the help desk advice gave not real [...]
